11.00am Sunday Worship
The Reading this Sunday will be Mark 1: 21-28
They went to Capernaum; and when the sabbath came, he entered the synagogue and taught. They were astounded at his teaching, for he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. Just then there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out, "What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God." But Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be silent, and come out of him!" And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him. They were all amazed, and they kept on asking one another, "What is this? A new teaching—with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him." At once his fame began to spread throughout the surrounding region of Galilee.
But also check out this description of the early Church from Acts 2,
They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw.
Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved.
There are full Sunday School facilities for children and coffee after worship in the Church Hall is an important Church family gathering.
Join us this week for worship, teaching and fellowship.

Open Space Wednesdays
Bob Luke, Senior Manager, HMP Dumfries will be speaking on Wednesday 1 February at 7.00pm.
Bob had hoped to have been able to be at our November meeting and we are grateful that he is going to be able to join us for the first meeting of 2012. He will be presenting two proposed projects which will be shared between HMP Dumfries and Dumfries Northwest Church. This meeting will pick up, develop and focus some of the questions and themes touched upon in the November (and September and October) meeting. Now it is coming down to what we can actually do.
This is part of Elders' Training. It is also part of our exploration of what it means to be Church in 2012.
